UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese has issued a stark warning, accusing Israel of using settlers as instruments to advance ethnic cleansing in the West Bank. The outpost formation, which involves setting up temporary dwellings such as tents, is part of a broader pattern of Israeli settlement expansion in territories internationally recognized as occupied Palestinian land.
The establishment of illegal outposts by Israeli settlers is not new, but each instance exacerbates tensions in the region and undermines prospects for peace.
