A devastating wildfire has swept through a coastal community just north of Sydney, resulting in the destruction or damage of at least 12 homes, Millenium TV has learned. The inferno ignited in the town of Koolewong, New South Wales, causing widespread devastation.
This incident comes as numerous wildfires continue to rage across the state, exacerbated by exceptionally high temperatures that are fueling the blazes across the region.
Residents were caught off guard by the rapid spread of the fire. One local individual, reflecting on the suddenness of the event, told Millenium TV reporters, “There was no time to even think… we’ve lost everything, all we’ve got left is what we’re wearing.”
Images from the scene depict multiple residences engulfed in flames, with firefighting helicopters actively deployed to combat the blaze and prevent further destruction.
