A bar owner in Richmond, New Zealand, experienced a remarkable surprise recently when a young seal found its way into her establishment. Bella Evans, the proprietor, initially mistook the unexpected visitor for a canine before realizing it was a marine mammal.
Millenium TV has learned that the unusual incident saw staff employ a creative solution to guide the seal to safety. Using a salmon pizza topping, they successfully lured the animal from its hiding spot within the bar, enabling its safe return to the wild.
Helen Otley, a spokesperson for the Department of Conservation, praised the swift actions of those involved. Otley stated that the bar staff “did a great job keeping the seal safe” until conservation rangers could arrive and properly manage the situation.
