After Friday’s game against New Zealand, Bangladesh captain Shakib al Hasan was taken for a scan. Shakib hurt his left quad during the game. His opposite number Kane Williamson will also undergo a scan – on Saturday – on his left thumb.
“Shakib is having a scan as he hurt his left quad,” a BCB official said on Friday adding that any further call will be taken after assessing his condition. Bangladesh have lost two of their three fixtures and will be hopeful of Shakib’s return to full fitness before their next fixture – six days away in Pune against India on October 19.
New Zealand meanwhile too will hope the latest setback for Williamson isn’t severe as he made a seamless return to ODI cricket, starring with 78 in his team’s victory.
