Iran War Live: Tehran Targets Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan After New US Strikes

In a rapidly escalating conflict in the Middle East, Iran has intensified its military actions following recent strikes by the United States. Tehran has now extended its military targeting to include Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan, signaling a significant escalation in the regional conflict dynamics.

The situation further deteriorated as Iran declared a complete closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital maritime chokepoint for global oil shipments. This move is expected to severely disrupt international shipping lanes and energy supplies, causing broad economic repercussions worldwide.

The recent US attacks reportedly targeted key Iranian military sites, aiming to curtail Tehran’s capabilities amid rising tensions. However, these strikes have only hardened Iran’s stance, prompting retaliatory measures against several Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and Jordan.

Tehran’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz to all vessels signifies a direct challenge to international maritime norms and threatens to escalate the conflict beyond the region. This strait is crucial as it facilitates the passage of approximately 20% of the world’s petroleum, making it a strategic economic target.

Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan, all strategic US allies in the Middle East, have increased their military readiness and called for international support to counter Iran’s aggressive maneuvers. The Gulf Cooperation Council has convened emergency meetings to address the unfolding crisis and seek diplomatic solutions.

Regional and global powers have expressed deep concern over the potential for further escalation, urging restraint and dialogue. The United Nations has called for an immediate ceasefire and peaceful negotiations to prevent a broader regional war.

Experts warn that the conflict could destabilize global energy markets, disrupt international trade routes, and lead to widespread humanitarian crises if not contained swiftly. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz also raises fears of a potential spike in oil prices and economic instability worldwide.

As the situation remains fluid, the international community is closely monitoring developments. Diplomatic efforts may intensify in the coming days to de-escalate tensions and restore stability in the region. The coming weeks will be critical in determining whether the conflict will expand or if a path toward negotiation and peace can be established.
