These Kansas City area fireworks shows have been delayed due to weather

Thunderstorms moved through the Kansas City area Tuesday night, and more are expected Wednesday and Thursday, when plenty of 4th of July celebrations are planned. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop late afternoon or evening in parts of Kansas and Missouri and continue into the morning of Independence Day, according to the National Weather Service. The weather service said there is a low probability of severe weather Wednesday, although there is potential for heavy rain in west-central and central Missouri in the evening. A few fireworks displays were postponed due to the weather, and more can be pushed back if the area sees more rain. Here’s what’s been pushed back so far, and when visitors can see the show in the sky. WHAT KANSAS CITY AREA FIREWORKS SHOWS ARE DELAYED? As of 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, six fireworks shows around the Kansas City metro are not happening as scheduled: Northeast Johnson County Fireworks Display The fireworks show set for Wednesday in Roeland Park is postponed until Friday, according to a social media post from the city of Roeland Park. It’s now scheduled for 9:45 p.m. Friday at Bishop Miege High School’s baseball field, 5041 Reinhardt Drive.
