The Basterds soon cross paths with Shosanna Dreyfus (Mélanie Laurent), a young Jewish woman in France who owns a cinema. Unbeknownst to the Basterds, Shosanna plans to premiere a Nazi propaganda film at her cinema and lock the doors to burn it down with the Nazi leaders inside.
The film builds to an epic climax during the premiere, intercutting between the Basterds, Shosanna and the Nazi officers. “Inglourious Basterds” is a revisionist take on history that delivers Tarantino’s signature flair for violence, dialogue and nonlinear storytelling. With an ensemble cast including Christoph Waltz, Michael Fassbender and Diane Kruger, it’s an ambitious and stylized war film only Tarantino could deliver.
