Danish FM Comments on Continued US-Denmark Differences Over Greenland

In a recent statement that caught international attention, Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen addressed the ongoing differences between Denmark and the United States regarding the status of Greenland. Rasmussen emphasized that while Denmark maintains a strong relationship with the US, the two countries still ‘differ’ on matters concerning Greenland. The Danish FM was explicit in expressing his rejection of any proposals or ‘ideas’ that fail to acknowledge and respect Greenland’s right to self-determination.
