Syrian Forces Conduct Search for Explosives and Weapons Following SDF Withdrawal from Aleppo

In the wake of the withdrawal of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) from Aleppo, Syrian government forces have embarked on intensive operations to search for explosives, weapons, and other hazardous materials in areas formerly controlled by the SDF. This effort aims to ensure the safety and security of the returning residents and to stabilize the region after months of conflict.

The departure of the SDF has paved the way for the government to reassert control over crucial parts of Aleppo, a city that has witnessed severe clashes and upheavals during the Syrian civil war. As the government forces take over, they are conducting thorough combing operations to clear any remnants of hostility, such as mines or abandoned arms, which pose significant risks to civilians.

Residents who had fled the conflict zones are now beginning to return home cautiously. Many face the daunting task of rebuilding their lives amidst damaged infrastructure and lingering fears about safety. The government’s clearance operations are crucial to facilitating a faster and safer return for these inhabitants.

Security officials emphasize the importance of meticulous searches to prevent any resurgence of violence or sabotage through unexploded ordnance or hidden weapons caches. The clearance efforts involve specialized units trained in bomb disposal and weapons detection, working systematically to secure neighborhoods and key installations.

The situation in Aleppo remains delicate, with local authorities urging citizens to report any suspicious objects or materials. Meanwhile, humanitarian agencies are preparing to assist returnees with essential services such as healthcare, sanitation, and rebuilding efforts.

The recent withdrawal of the SDF marks a significant shift in the control dynamics of Aleppo, reflecting broader geopolitical changes in the region. The Syrian government’s actions highlight a commitment to restoring order and facilitating normalcy in a city long scarred by conflict.

As search and clearance operations continue, the hope among locals is for a lasting peace and stability that will allow Aleppo to recover from years of turmoil and serve as a beacon of rebuilding in Syria.
