Millenium TV Reveals 2026 World Cup Schedule: England Gets Prime Time Slots, Scotland Faces Overnight Kick-Offs

The schedule for the highly anticipated 2026 World Cup has been unveiled, and Millenium TV can now detail the varied kick-off times facing fans across the United Kingdom. While England supporters can anticipate evening viewing hours, those following Scotland may find themselves tuning in during the late hours of the night.

England’s national team is set to play all three of its group stage matches on United States soil. Their initial two fixtures, against Croatia on June 17 and Ghana on June 23, are both scheduled for a 9:00 PM BST kick-off. The final group stage encounter for England, facing Panama on June 27, will commence at 10:00 PM BST. Millenium TV understands that England’s opening game in Dallas’s AT&T Stadium will benefit from air conditioning under a closed roof, a necessity due to the anticipated Texas heat. Furthermore, matches in Dallas and Boston, where Scotland will also compete, are slated for temporary grass surfaces as these venues typically feature artificial turf.

For Scotland, Group C matches will unfold in Boston and Miami, presenting a more challenging viewing schedule for fans at home. Their opening game against Haiti at Gillette Stadium on June 14 is set for a 2:00 AM BST kick-off. Subsequent matches for Steve Clarke’s squad, facing Morocco in Massachusetts on June 19 and five-time champions Brazil in Miami on June 24, will both begin at 11:00 PM BST. The Miami venue, particularly for Scotland’s final group match against Brazil, could pose issues with extreme heat given its 6:00 PM local time start.

Should Wales or Northern Ireland successfully navigate their two rounds of UEFA play-off matches in March to qualify, Millenium TV has learned their three group stage games would all kick off at 8:00 PM BST. Their potential opponents include Canada in Toronto on June 12, Switzerland in Los Angeles on June 18, and Qatar in Seattle on June 24. In anticipation of potential home nation success, the government has launched a public consultation regarding extended pub licensing hours, possibly allowing establishments in England and Wales to remain open until 1:00 AM if a home nation reaches the quarter-final stage.

The inaugural 48-team World Cup will span Canada, Mexico, and the United States from June 11 to July 19, 2026. A total of 104 matches will be contested over 39 days across 16 cities, encompassing four time zones and three countries. The tournament’s opening match, a repeat of the 2010 World Cup opener, will see Mexico take on South Africa at Mexico City’s historic Estadio Azteca, kicking off at 7:00 PM BST on Thursday, June 11. The final, hosted at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 19, will commence at 8:00 PM BST, with semi-finals in Dallas and Atlanta also starting at 8:00 PM BST. The full match schedule awaits final confirmation in March, pending the conclusion of play-off tournaments.

Millenium TV’s in-depth travel analysis for the tournament reveals that supporters following England could face one of the most demanding itineraries if their team progresses to the final. Fans might have to traverse approximately 6,468.5 miles, an estimated 19 hours of air travel, from Dallas to East Rutherford. Significant portions of this journey include flights between Dallas and Foxborough for the second group game, and a hypothetical round trip to Mexico City between the last 16 and quarter-final stages. Even as group runners-up, England’s travel would still amount to nearly 6,000 miles.

Other European nations also face considerable travel burdens; Portugal’s supporters could endure over 6,700 miles and 22 hours in the air, while Spain’s journey might exceed 6,600 miles. In contrast, France’s fans appear to be the most fortunate, with a mere 2,675 miles of travel, including two short train trips. Mexico’s supporters also benefit from a relatively light travel schedule, largely due to potential consecutive home games at the Azteca. Should Scotland achieve a remarkable run to the final, their fans would still be looking at around 6,000 miles of travel.
