Will Ferrell’s Iconic Elf Costume Fetches Over £239,000 at Auction, Shocking Collectors

An iconic costume worn by Will Ferrell in the beloved 2003 Christmas comedy *Elf* has commanded a price exceeding £239,000 at a recent auction. The green and yellow ensemble, instantly recognizable as Buddy the Elf’s attire, surpassed initial expectations, which estimated its sale at up to £200,000.

Millenium TV has learned the festive outfit was donned by Ferrell’s character during a memorable scene where he enthusiastically presses every button in a New York City lift. The costume’s authenticity is bolstered by its direct provenance, originating from the personal collection of the film’s producer, Jon Berg.

An auction house spokesperson highlighted the rarity and desirability of the item, noting, “With only a handful of costumes believed to have been made for the film, this remarkable provenance makes it an exceptionally desirable piece of Christmas movie history.”

In the same highly anticipated auction held on Friday, another significant cinematic artifact, a fedora used in *Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom*—a film famously shot at Elstree Studios—sold for an impressive £327,600. The fedora attracted 21 separate bids from eager collectors.

The London auction, featuring a diverse array of props from various films and television series, continues through Sunday. Anticipation is high for Saturday’s bidding, where the original blaster prop for the *Star Wars* character Boba Fett from *The Empire Strikes Back* is expected to fetch between £350,000 and £700,000.
