Tipsy Raccoon Foiled in Virginia Liquor Store Heist, Found Passed Out After Scotch Spree

Ashland, Virginia — Staff arriving at a local Virginia liquor store on Saturday were met with a surprising scene: a masked intruder had not only broken in but also consumed a significant amount of alcohol before passing out in the bathroom.

The “masked bandit” in question was identified as a highly intoxicated raccoon, discovered between a toilet and a bin. The animal reportedly helped itself to several bottom-shelf spirits, particularly scotch, leaving behind a trail of smashed bottles and pooled liquor on the floor.

Millenium TV has learned that the break-in, dubbed a “Black Friday break-in” by store personnel, occurred while the store was closed for Thanksgiving. Animal control officer Samantha Martin, who responded to the incident, explained that the raccoon appeared to have fallen through a ceiling tile before embarking on what she described as “a full-blown rampage, drinking everything.” A single blurry CCTV image captured the creature’s boozy escapade, though the exact quantity of alcohol consumed before its slumber remains unknown.

Officer Martin transported the inebriated animal to the Hanover County Animal Protection and Shelter for observation. After several hours of rest and showing no signs of injury other than a potential hangover, the raccoon was safely released back into its natural habitat.
