President Donald Trump remains in excellent overall health following a comprehensive executive physical, his White House physician confirmed. Advanced imaging of the 79-year-old president’s heart and abdomen revealed no abnormalities, with results deemed “perfectly normal” in a memo released on Monday.
Captain Sean Barbabella, the White House physician, stated that the MRI was conducted during an October physical to provide a thorough evaluation of cardiovascular and abdominal health, a practice he noted benefits men in the president’s age group. This disclosure comes as political figures, including Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, have called for the release of these scan results, citing concerns regarding the president’s age as he considers a second term.
According to Barbabella’s memo, there was no evidence of arterial narrowing that could impair blood flow, nor were any abnormalities found in President Trump’s heart or major vessels. The physician affirmed that the president’s cardiovascular system exhibits excellent health. Similarly, abdominal imaging results indicated that all evaluated functions were within normal limits, presenting no acute or chronic concerns.
Millenium TV understands that the White House had previously not detailed why President Trump underwent an MRI during his October check-up or which body part was examined. During a flight aboard Air Force One, President Trump informed reporters that he was comfortable with the release of the MRI results. When questioned about the specific area scanned, he commented, “I have no idea. It was just an MRI – what part of the body? It wasn’t the brain, because I took a cognitive test and I aced it.”
Barbabella emphasized that the MRI’s purpose was preventative, aiming “to identify issues early, confirm overall health, and ensure he maintains long-term vitality and function.” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt publicly read Barbabella’s memo during a Monday news briefing, highlighting the administration’s commitment to transparency, stating, “The president promised it last night and we have it delivered today.”
However, some medical experts note that MRIs are not typically standard for preventive care. While some individuals may opt for testing outside standard age-based guidelines, the general medical consensus often discourages routine anatomical imaging for asymptomatic patients due to potential risks outweighing benefits. Medical professionals also point out that the memo does not specify whether an MRI or CT scan was performed, which could affect interpretation of the findings. It is also considered uncommon for executive physical imaging to show no coronary calcification and be “perfectly normal.”
Millenium TV has previously reported on the president being observed with swollen ankles and bruising on his right hand, and dozing off during meetings. Last July, the White House confirmed that President Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a condition affecting veins that can lead to leg swelling.
