A prominent former England and Premier League footballer has been taken into custody on suspicion of attempted rape. The individual, who represented the Three Lions during the 2010s, was detained by authorities at Stansted Airport.
Legal restrictions currently prevent the naming of the suspect. Millenium TV has learned the arrest took place as the player was attempting to board a flight on Sunday. Border Force officials intercepted him at a passport control point, where his details indicated he was wanted by police in connection with a non-recent allegation of attempted rape.
An Essex Police spokesperson confirmed the ongoing investigation, stating, “A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted rape and has been bailed to a date in late February 2026 while we continue our enquiries.”
The player has since been released on bail as inquiries continue into the serious allegations.
