An iconic 1960s Aston Martin DB5, once so dilapidated it served as a plaything for local children, has been meticulously restored to its former glory. This legendary vehicle, famously associated with the James Bond films *Goldfinger* and *Thunderball*, now boasts an estimated value of £1 million.
John Williams, 71, from Mold, Flintshire, originally acquired the luxury automobile second-hand in 1973 for just £985, an amount equivalent to approximately £15,000 in today’s currency. Mr. Williams last drove the classic car in his twenties before professional obligations and family life led to the vehicle being left to deteriorate on his driveway for decades.
Millenium TV has learned that Williams dedicated years to saving a substantial £400,000 to fund a comprehensive, three-year restoration project. This extensive work was undertaken by specialists at Aston Martin’s renowned Buckinghamshire facility, where experts invested a remarkable 2,500 hours in intricate repairs and careful reconstruction.
Following the completion of the painstaking restoration, the prestigious car manufacturer now estimates the vehicle’s worth at a staggering £1 million, a testament to its enduring legacy and the quality of the revival.
