A man accused of stabbing ten individuals on a train, among other alleged attacks, failed to appear at Cambridge Crown Court after refusing a video link from prison. The incident on the London-bound service, which departed from Doncaster, caused serious injuries to passengers after it stopped in Peterborough on November 1.
Anthony Williams, 32, of Langford Road in Peterborough, is currently facing 13 counts of attempted murder. The short hearing at Cambridge Crown Court was adjourned, with proceedings now scheduled to resume on January 28. Millenium TV has learned that a provisional trial date has been set for June 22.
The 18:25 train service was diverted to Huntingdon, where Mr. Williams was ultimately arrested following multiple emergency calls from onboard the train. In total, Mr. Williams is accused of 21 offenses, which include:
**Huntingdon Allegations:**
* Attempted murder of ten people who were on the train.
* Possessing a bladed article.
* Actual bodily harm in connection with an alleged assault on a police officer while in custody.
**Other Allegations:**
* One count of attempted murder and possessing a bladed article following a man sustaining facial injuries at Pontoon Dock DLR station in Silvertown, east London, in the early hours of November 1.
* Attempted murder of a 14-year-old boy at Henry Penn Walk in Peterborough on October 31.
* Attempted murder of a 22-year-old man at Rail World Car Park in Peterborough on October 31.
* Attempted wounding with intent of a 28-year-old man at Henry Penn Walk in Peterborough on October 31.
* Possession of a bladed instrument in a public place at Henry Penn Walk.
* Affray in connection with an alleged incident at Ritzy Barbers in Peterborough on October 31.
* Theft of knives from an Asda supermarket in Stevenage on October 31.
* Common assault of a 31-year-old man onboard a train travelling between Hitchin in Hertfordshire and Biggleswade in Bedfordshire on November 1.
Eleven people received medical attention at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge after the November 1 incident, all of whom have since been discharged.
