Funeral services today for Bridgeport mother, daughter killed in Florida crash

BRIDGEPORT — Family members and friends on Friday will lay to rest Anyia and Na’leia Tucker, a Bridgeport mother and daughter who were among the nine people killed in a Florida crash earlier this month.

The two will share a noon funeral service at the Cathedral of Praise Church of God in Christ, International after a 10 a.m. visitation ceremony, according to Amber Cheatham, a spokesperson for Morton’s Mortuary funeral home. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery.

Anyia Tucker, 21, and Na’leia Tucker, 1, were two of the nine passengers who died when Florida police said the Ford Explorer they were riding in struck a guardrail before flipping into a canal on Hatton Highway in Belle Glade on Monday, Aug. 5.
