NDEPENDENCE, Ky. —From an emotional crisis, to a possible bomb scare that forced families to leave their homes.
A normally quiet neighborhood in northern Kentucky has just about seen it all in the past 24 hours.
What began as a long night stretched into this afternoon for police and about a dozen homeowners in Kenton County.
Ariana Banks is still trying to process what happened Wednesday night and Thursday on Pumpkin Patch Way in the Independence neighborhood of Harvest Hill.
It started when a neighbor let Banks and her husband know that police officers were right across the street around 9 p.m. Wednesday.
A short time later, police told the Banks and their four kids they needed to leave their home and take shelter in the neighborhood’s clubhouse.
“We had the report of an individual that was suffering from an emotional crisis. And during that period there were some threats made,” Kenton County Police Chief Spike Jones said.
