ANN ARBOR, MI – Just before 6 a.m., University of Michigan police arrived to dislodge about 50 pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel protesters from their encampment on the Diag.
Multiple videos from protesters show officers using pepper spray and riot gear to push the crowd outside the Diag and toward North University Avenue. Officers issued three warnings to protesters over a 15-minute period to request they leave voluntarily before being subject to arrest, according to Deputy Chief Melissa Overton of the university’s Division of Public Safety and Security.
