According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, preliminary investigations show a 2020 Silver Ford Explorer, driven by Christopher “Brock” Peacock, 32, of Blackshear, was traveling eastbound “at a high rate of speed” and crossed over into oncoming traffic.
That’s where he struck a 2013 black Ford Explorer, driven by Elizabeth “Beth” Ammons, 30, of Jesup. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Two people have died following a crash Wednesday in Wayne County.
It happened about a mile outside the city limits of Jesup on Highway 84.
According to Wayne County Sheriff Chuck Mosley, a driver traveling in the eastbound lane crossed over the median into oncoming traffic striking a vehicle head-on around 6:15 a.m.
