Atlantic City Council Personnel and Finance Committee Meets Today

(Atlantic) The Atlantic City Council, Personnel, and Finance Committee meet this afternoon at 3:30 p.m. to review, recommend Retail Coach, City Clerk Contractual Service Agreement, appoint an acting city clerk, and update the City Attorney Retainer Agreement.

The committee is tasked with recommending a contractual service agreement and appointing an acting city clerk following Barb Barrick’s resignation earlier this month. Ms. Barrick announced her resignation to take another position with the city of Huxley to be closer to her husband’s employment and family.

Barb began her duties as the Atlantic City Clerk on January 9, 2017. She currently serves on the Iowa League of Cities Board of Directors. Her last day with the City of Atlantic is March 22. She will begin her duties at Huxley on March 25.

The committee will also go into an exempt session for a strategy meeting of public employers for collective bargaining.

The meeting starts at 3:30 p.m. today at the City Council Chambers.
